The core purpose of the KS2 Teacher is to deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive learning experiences that foster academic excellence, curiosity, and personal growth in every pupil. The teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that reflects the school’s values and diverse community, while promoting global-mindedness and intercultural understanding. Through effective planning, assessment, and differentiation, the teacher ensures that all pupils make strong progress and develop the skills, confidence, and character needed to thrive both within and beyond the classroom.<br><br><strong>What You Will Be Doing<br><br></strong><ul><li>To teach according to the timetable for the current year, ensuring that lessons are planned, ordered and effective.</li><li>To be aware of the need to differentiate work and challenges according to the ability of the pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations of all and taking full account of any linguistic or other special needs.</li><li>To work as part of a team, in harmony with and for the furtherance of the College’s ethos and declared educational aims and priorities.</li><li>To be supportive of the department’s aims, agreed teaching styles, methods of assessment and other policies.</li><li>To set written assignments or other creative pieces of work regularly and mark them promptly and in accordance with College and Departmental policies, ensuring that formative comments are always helpful and make helpful suggestions for further appropriate improvement in learning</li><li>To provide parents with written reports on their children’s work and progress according to current College policy and to attend parent meetings.</li><li>To take a share of duties and cover for absent colleagues.</li><li>To be responsible for the supervision, control and proper use of teaching rooms, materials and resources, and to have regard to health and safety issues and regulations.</li><li>To report in a timely manner any concerns regarding Child Protection or bullying to the appropriate colleague. Be responsible for the pastoral care of the children in the class and ensuring good personal relationships are fostered between the children themselves and with the teacher.</li><li>To contribute to the College’s broad and active co-curricular activities programme.</li><li>Contribute to the Department’s devising and writing of new subject materials when required.</li><li>This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, reasonable request may also be included<br><br></li></ul><strong>Who We Are Looking For<br><br></strong><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in any field with PGCE or equivalent.</li><li>Possess 2 to 6 years of teaching experience with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree in the specified specialism area.</li><li> Have knowledge of British National Curriculum requirements at the relevant Key Stages, and of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students' work.</li><li>Proven record of teaching experience, prior experience in independent Prep School will be an added advantage.</li><li>A positive team player who works collaboratively and harmoniously with the wider school community.</li><li>A warm, engaging and approachable personality with pupils, current and prospective parents.</li><li>Evidence of the ability to be creative and inspire enthusiasm for your subjects in both colleagues and students.</li><li>Exemplifies the Brighton College (Singapore) values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness.</li><li>An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environments<br><br></li></ul><strong>Benefits At Cognita<br><br></strong><ul><li>Competitive salary depending upon qualifications and experience</li><li>School holidays and public holidays</li><li>Free parking on site (subject to availability)</li><li>Professional Development<br><br></li></ul><strong>Applicants are required to submit their application through our Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
