Job responsibilities:

  • Report to and provide support to the Project Engineering Manager on assigned projects and report to the Section Manager at the basis level.

  • Lead and supervise engineering activities to ensure that it is carried out in accordance with pertinent specifications, statutory and other contractual requirements, with due regard to safety, operability, maintainability and constructability aspects.

  • Be responsible for technical integrity, quality and progress of assigned work.

  • Co-ordinate with other organisational units including fabrication, MC, commissioning and operation

  • Be aware and comply with Company contractual requirements and Scope Boundaries.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Work experience requirements:

  • Minimum 15 years of Instrumentation design engineering experience, including at least 10 years in offshore projects such as offshore platforms or FPSOs.

  • Must have handled complete cycle from specifications, RFQ, Technical bid evaluation, Purchase requisition, post order vendor drawing review/approval.

  • Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized green field projects in the offshore oil & gas industry and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables, internal and external interfaces.

  • Must have relevant design experience in reputed Engineering consultancy / organisation with development of typical Instrumentation Engineering deliverables such as but not limited to Project Specifications and Philosophies, Field Instruments data sheets & specifications (Control valves, shutdown valves, Choke valves, Level Instruments, Pressure Instruments etc.), Metering Systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical or Chemical Engineer.

Other skills:

  • A self-starter who can work independently, make sound decisions, analyse problems and provide focused solutions.

  • Good understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards such as, but not limited to, API (American Petroleum Institute), ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation),IEC, NORSOK, EU Directives  ATEx, IECex requirements and other relevant standards related to Instrumentation Engineering.

  • Effective technical communication (verbal and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client, technical authorities and verification bodies.

  • A high level of energy and ability to work under pressure and complexity.

  • Prepare and maintain a positive working environment for the members within the discipline.

  • Genuine interest and appreciation of people.

  • Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Provide team with a clear sense of direction, inspire and co-ordinate with people.

  • Develop people through delegation, empowerment and coaching.

  • Must be able to travel overseas on short notice if required, and perform overtime work as required.
