About the Role

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will support him in maintaining and enhancing the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing facilities and corporate offices.

This role covers both technical operations and strategic improvement projects, including Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expenditure (OpEx) initiatives, with a focus on sustainability, compliance, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and utility systems across industrial and office sites.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend asset life.
  • Troubleshoot complex facilities and engineering issues as the technical lead.
  • Manage CapEx and OpEx budgets, including cost planning, project tracking, and vendor performance.
  • Coordinate facility projects such as plant upgrades, equipment installation, and office renovations.
  • Conduct inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with local standards.
  • Monitor energy, utilities, and waste metrics, and implement sustainability and efficiency measures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure smooth service delivery across multiple sites.
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent facility issues when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to office management.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chillers, compressors, UPS, BMS, and fire protection systems.
  • Experience managing CapEx/OpEx budgets and maintenance projects.
  • Good understanding of local safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications such as CFM, CPE, or SCEM will be an advantage.
  • Effective communicator and team player with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in regulated or high-tech industries (semiconductor, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing).
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, BCA Green Mark, NEA, or SCDF requirements.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement.
  • Growth mindset - eager to learn, adapt, and take on increased responsibility over time.
