What the role is:

A dynamic individual is invited to take up the role of Senior Manager/Manager, International & Museum Relations in NHB.

The successful candidate will be part of a team which:
• drives the building of strong and mutually beneficial relationships with major partners to support NHB’s international interests and heritage capabilities.
• helps promote a museum-going culture amongst Singaporeans and develop the capabilities of the local museum sector as the Secretariat to the Museum Roundtable, which is a collective of more than 60 public and private museums in Singapore.


What you will be working on:

International Relations

  • Represent, defend and promote NHB’s policy interests at key international/regional platforms involving governments and/or international organisations

  • Facilitate collaborative arrangements and projects with NHB’s key international stakeholders

  • Organise and manage policy positions, briefings, meetings, events and trips in support of the abovementioned objectives

Museum Roundtable

  • Develop and implement strategies to uplift the members of the Museum Roundtable, including the organisation of public outreach and capability development programmes and events

  • Administer incentive and support programmes and schemes to benefit the Singapore museum sector


What we are looking for:

Key Competencies

  • Ability to monitor and analyse ongoing developments and dynamics in NHB’s relationships with international and domestic stakeholders at the government, international organisation and museum levels;

  • Ability to understand relevant stakeholders’ interests and areas of concern; and how they impact NHB’s mission;  

  • Ability to conduct engagements with stakeholders to further NHB’s interests, with calibrated approaches and messaging based on considered assessments of desired outcomes;  

  • Ability to lead the planning and implementation of projects from conception to completion;

  • Ability to examine risks and factors that could derail project outcomes and develop comprehensive mitigation plans to ensure successful delivery;

  • Ability to manage the necessary operational arrangements and drive operational improvements to support the work, including funding, logistics and tracking of outcomes.

Other Traits

  • Preferably at least 5 years of relevant work experience

  • Able to think, speak and write critically and strategically

  • Proficient in numerical and data analysis work

  • Creative, resourceful and able to multi-task

  • Excellent team player and able to drive initiatives and projects involving stakeholders from multiple divisions or agencies

  • Prepared to work off-hours when necessary and undertake overseas work trips

  • Keen interest in current and international affairs

  • Prior work experience in the Singapore public sector, and/or with a work scope in international relations and/or stakeholder engagement will be a strong asset

Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
