Online Tutor (Test Prep and General Academics)

Job Description

The TestingMom Tutor will help students improve their academic performance, ensuring they grasp key concepts and feel confident applying their knowledge in tests and real-world scenarios. The ideal candidate will be responsible for offering one-on-one or group instruction in specific subject areas. Our Tutors need to be confident, knowledgeable, supportive, patient, positive, consistent, dependable, and able to inspire intellectual growth. They should be able to contribute to student learning, development, and advancement. Lastly, they should have the heart to help students with their challenges.

Main Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess student understanding and progress
• Identify students' learning needs
• Develop personalized lesson plans for students
• Demonstrate academic competence in subject area(s), test prep, and ability to build a curriculum.
• Encourage independent thinking and learning
• Engage students in learning activities
• Excellent interpersonal and assessment skills
• Lesson planning and preparation
• Utilize different tools to conduct your online lesson, such as the whiteboard, websites, and other resources.
• Provide tutoring with structured lesson plans based on individual student needs and goals.

Essential Requirements (education and experience)

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a must.
• Having a teaching qualification and/or certification is strongly preferred.
• G&T experience and/or G&T certification a plus
• Familiarity with private school tests such as ISEE, G&T tests (CogAT, OLSAT, NNAT), Adaptive Assessments (MAP and iReady), SAT/ACT, and PSAT.

Desirable Requirements

• Master’s Degree holder
• At least 4 years of tutoring experience or more.
• Obtained teaching certification (e.g., G&T certification)

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: ₹700.00 - ₹1,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 5 per week
