1. Introduction The Fast Retailing Group’s mainstay brand, UNIQLO’s overriding aim is to create comfortable everyday clothes that enrich peoples’ lives. UNIQLO LifeWear is completely different to what other apparel brands are offering. It is a new, unique category of truly great clothing, offering high-quality, fashionable everyday items. UNIQLO has expanded to over 830 stores in Japan and 950 stores in international markets. In addition to Japan, Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan) and Southeast Asia markets are likely to be the primary drivers of future growth. In Singapore, our first store was launched in 2009 in Tampines One to much fan-fare. Currently we have 28 stores islandwide providing the top notch UNIQLO service and experience everyone is familiar with. 2. Objective: The program is a 9+1 week internship program targeting Year 3 or 4 University Students to let them experience working with the Fast Retailing Group. The program constitutes a 9 weeks internship in Uniqlo Singapore with exposure between Store and Headquarters to provide a holistic experience on working in Fast Retailing. Students will be invited to our Global Headquarters in Japan under the Global Management Program (GMP) initiative for the last week Lastly, the students exiting this program will form part of the UMC hiring pipeline for the next hiring season assisting UQSG to meet our UMC hiring targets 3. Numbers: Maximum up to 5 candidates selected for this internship program including the exchange to Global Headquarters, Japan 4. Job Description Successful applicants will be exposed to the inner workings on what we do to make the Uniqlo brand a recognised success globally. You will be tasked to help our solve specific marketing and inventory control issues and this will require you to work at both our Singapore Headquarters and also our Store (Specifically Suntec City Mall). Your key task will be to solve a specific problem faced by our store in relation to Marketing and Inventory Control Workflows. This means a need to create a project timeline with specific targets to meet, Stakeholders to engage and convince and actualizing the solution agreed to improve the overall store situation. GMP Details GMP is a 5-Day intensive business study program in Tokyo in which Students get to Visit head offices and stores, Tackle immediate challenges together with individual market specialists and senior managers Debate solutions with other talented international students Present your conclusions to the Board 8. Provision Uniqlo Singapore Internship = Internship Allowance (SGD1000/month) Laptop provided GMP = Flight, Accommodation Cost borne Note: There will be no allowance for the period under GMP in Japan UNIQLO is looking for ambitious and hardworking individuals for retail associate positions at our stores all across Singapore.
