In this role, you will be responsible for crafting detailed, optimized, and immersive 3D environments—primarily focused on airport scenery—for Microsoft Flight Simulator. You’ll work closely with a passionate group of artists and developers to bring real-world airports to life in the simulator with visual accuracy and technical precision.<br><br></p> <p>🥸 <span style="font-weight: bold;">Responsibilities</span></p> <ul> <li>Model high-quality buildings, airport infrastructure, and environmental elements using photo and satellite references, charts, and blueprints.</li> <li>Create realistic textures and materials using industry-standard tools and workflows.</li> <li>Optimize assets for performance across a wide range of systems, including efficient UV mapping and LOD creation.</li> <li>Ensure assets integrate seamlessly with the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK and tools as per internal documentation.</li> <li>Collaborate with the team to resolve technical and visual issues during asset implementation.</li> <li>Follow internal standards and naming conventions to maintain consistency across projects.</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>✅ <span style="font-weight: bold;">Requirements</span></p> <ul> <li>Proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya or Blender.</li> <li>Strong understanding of environmental modeling and texturing techniques with a focus on realism and accuracy.</li> <li>Experience working from various types of reference material to recreate real-world locations.</li> <li>Familiarity with asset optimization, including creating LODs and texture atlases.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.</li> <li>Comfortable with the English language for all work-related communication.</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>💪 <span style="font-weight: bold;">Preferred Qualifications & Traits</span></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience with airport or city environment modeling.</li> <li>Personal interest in aviation, simulation, or gaming.</li> <li>Experience using the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, in-game DevTools, and scenery placement systems.</li> <li>Familiarity with the quirks and requirements of MSFS-specific exports, lighting, and material setups.</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>🛠️ <span style="font-weight: bold;">Software Proficiency</span></p> <ul> <li>Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya or Blender.</li> <li>Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter 3D, or similar applications relevant to the texturing pipeline.</li> </ul> <p><br></p> <p>❤️ <span style="font-weight: bold;">What We Offer</span></p> <ul> <li>A monthly-paid, hourly salary.</li> <li>Opportunity to build detailed, visually rich environments for a global userbase in Microsoft Flight Simulator.</li> <li>A collaborative and supportive work culture.</li> <li>Continuous learning and development opportunities across art and simulation technologies.</li> </ul>
